Tot Lot Music FAQ's
In the Spring 2025 semester classes are Saturdays at 10 AM, Sundays at 4 PM, and Mondays at 11:15 AM. View all classes and register here.
All Spring 2025 classes are for toddlers aged 1 - 3. Younger toddlers are encouraged to join the Sunday 4 PM class but are also welcome in the Saturday 10 AM or Monday 11:15 AM classes.
Classes and songs are primarily done in English
Families enroll per semester and can choose to either pay in full or with a monthly payment plan. The cost of the semester is calculated at a rate of $25 per class (for example, a 12-week semester costs $300). Enrollment includes music access through the Kindermusik app, an instrument set, and a new book each unit to keep.
Yes! Tot Lot Music offers trial classes, and you are encouraged to do a trial class before enrolling for the semester, especially if this is the first time for you and your child to engage in this kind of activity.
Families who need to miss class are encouraged to attend a different class time for that week by scheduling a make-up on the parent portal. Tot Lot Music also offers one bonus / make-up class per semester.
Level Descriptions
Foundations
If your baby is 0 - 1.5 years, Foundations classes are the perfect place to start. Many parents may feel that their baby is not ready to be in classes at this age. However, these early classes are as much for the adult as they are for the baby! New parents need a supportive community, and there is so much to learn in the first year about baby and their needs. Kindermusik classes are the perfect place to find that community and education to make the most of your baby's first year. Babies also love music-based activities and seeing and interacting with other babies.
Level 2
Tot Lot Music combines levels 1 & 2, which are both designed for toddlers (children 1.5 - 4 years old). These classes are full of movement, instrument exploration, imagination, singing, and more! Caregivers are active participants in toddler classes and get to sing and play along with their child. This practice creates precious bonding moments, and caregivers learn how to observe and support their child's unique creativity, interests, and development.
Young Musicians
Young Musicians classes are scheduled to come to Tot Lot Music in the Fall of 2025. These classes are designed for children aged 5-7 who are interested in learning music.
About the teacher
Hi! I'm Ms. Alicia. Music has always been a big part of my life. I started with piano in the 2nd grade, and joined orchestra in the 5th grade on the viola. I played both piano and viola through the end of high school. Some highlights of my musical experiences in high school include touring China with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, participating in TMEA's all-state orchestras during my sophomore, junior, and senior years, and piano ensemble competitions.
I also picked up guitar at 13 using a chord book and practicing with friends.
After graduating high school, I studied Biology at the University of Texas at Austin and double majored in music with a performance certificate on the viola. While in college I had the privilege of playing in the Mid-Texas Symphony, a local professional orchestra.
After college, I spent 10+ years in missionary work. Now that I'm married and raising a family, I'm excited for the opportunity to bring music and community to other families in the RGV through Kindermusik.
